About galphia.com

What does galphia.com do?

We present beautiful galleries of stunning original art, created by artistic legends of the past, and by some of today's most eye-inspiring artists.

galphia.com is for art lovers

I'm Phil, the proprietor of galphia.com - my eight-year old daughter draws better than me. You can't recognise anything I draw.

But the thing is, I just love looking at beautiful artwork - and that's why I made galphia.com.

Our image galleries showcase beautiful works of art, and celebrate the talent and skill of the fine artists who created them.

You'll find an unrivalled collection of the most eye-appealing artwork, created by contemporary artists and by famous artists who have passed on, leaving us all enriched by the legacy of their wonderful artworks.

galphia.com is for art buyers

If you're looking to acquire a work of art online, it's a daunting task to decide where to start. Search for "original art", and Google brings up more than one billion results!

On galphia.com, art buyers can browse through our galleries, in which every image provides a link to the respective artist's website.

galphia.com doesn't sell art - it's purely a website for exhibiting artworks. The benefit of our extensive linking system is that art buyers can use galphia.com as a direct gateway to the artists' own websites.

galphia.com is for artists

Promoting and selling their artworks is a tough job for most artists - but their artworks have to be out there for art lovers, including potential buyers, to see them.

galphia.com has no involvement at all in any artwork sales activities, and is only for displaying artworks, and for showing off the skills of the wonderful artists who created them. For artists, exhibiting on galphia.com provides an opportunity to showcase their work in an online gallery uncomplicated by selling add-ons, frills and hype.

Artists, please visit our For Artists page for more information.

galphia.com respects copyright

The beautiful artworks exhibited on galphia.com are the result of the artists' talent, skill, dedication, hard work, blood, sweat and tears. Without their efforts, a website like this can't exist.

I believe that the artists deserve our respect for their rights in the copyright of their work.

That's why galphia.com only exhibits images of artworks that are either in the public domain, or for which permission to exhibit has been obtained from the copyright owner.

galphia.com respects the techies

Kudos and thanks are due to all the talented people whose technical creations helped so much in getting the galphia.com website to work smoothly. Special mention goes to:

Big Bite Creative, creators of the macy.js masonry-style thumbnail images layout - eat your heart out, Pinterest.

Christopher Yee, who designed our excellent "Pushy" menu system.

FancyBox, makers of the lightbox-style image display system used in all our image galleries.
